Education: Completion of high school, Some college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training, Some university

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years
Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
Work Setting: Industrial establishment
Business Equipment and Computer Applications: Windows, General office equipment, Electronic Mail, Electronic scheduler, Word processing software, Spreadsheet software, Database software, Inventory control software, Internet browser
Purchasing Clerk Specific Skills: Review requisition orders for accuracy, Verify stock availability from current inventories, Obtain price quotations from catalogues and suppliers, Prepare purchase orders, Calculate costs of orders, Charge or forward invoices to appropriate accounts, Process purchases, Resolve delivery and other problems with suppliers, Prepare and maintain purchasing files, reports and records, Complete and process international purchase orders
Inventory Clerk Specific Skills: Unpack items received, Verify receipts and packing slips, Place stock on shelves, Record the quantity, type and value of stock on hand using computerized or manual inventory system, Pack items for shipping and distribution, Monitor inventory levels of issued materials and stocks, Prepare requisition orders to replenish stock, Maintain stock rotation, Reconcile calculated inventories with physical counts
Additional Skills: Perform routine clerical duties, Perform various administrative functions, Prepare price quotations, Provide customer service
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Repetitive tasks, Attention to detail, Bending, crouching, kneeling
